boost free testosteroneJust as we are coming to grips with women’s hormonal changes along comes “male menopause”. Over the past decade and a half, we have gone from, “Honey, its all in your head”, to realizing menopause is a real healt risk and the symptoms of menopause can have disastrous consequences. This article will not delve into the ravages this can cause on a women’s health, but if you want to read about Osteoporosis Treatments, just follow the link.

Back to Men and their Hormone Imballance:

Men as they age past fourty go down hill, too. Their testosterone levels declin a little every year, so the symptoms creep up until they have full blown andropause. The decline in the male hormone is not nearly as sharp as the drop in estrogen in women. Compare it to walking down a gentle slope rather than droping off a cliff, as women experience.

Grumpy Old Men

As their testosterone declines the folks around them notice he get moody, depressed and lacking in drive and creativeness. That is not a good thing, but it can’t kill you. But this can. As testosterone levels decline, the risk of cardiovascular disease, weight gain and bone loss increases.

Testing for Low Testosterone

Most medical professionals will test for hormone levels using blood tests. This is fine for testing the total testosterone in a man or women, but that is only half the store. Medical doctors are now findingthat it is important to know the free testosterone available, and the only way is with salive testing. Too many doctors are unfamiliar with this proceedure, so yoou will probably have to change doctors to find one that is on top of this proceedure. Don’t be dismayed. Millions of women have already made this change in health care practicioners when thier former doctor was totally unresponsive to the suggestion of saliva testing for testosterone, progestoerone and estrogen.

Just as women use hrt or hormone replacement therapy, men are seeking it out as well. Caution shoould be use here: for two or more decades the medical community forced women to endure the side effects of synthetic hormones. Along came natural therapies or bioidentical hormones. Now here comes synthetic testosterone, because that’s the way drug companies keep the price and profits high. However, there are natural testosterone therapies and supplements along with diet and exercise that naturally boosts testosterone.
